PROGRAMME/ CONTINUING EDUCATION/PLACEMENT CELL

 
  1. Community Polytechnic Society:
  2. It was established in year 1981 in this institution, one among 35 Community Polytechnics in the country. Its objective is as follows :
  3.  To identify the needs of rural people through conducting socio
  4. economic and technical survey.
  5. To arrange free training in variety of trades.
  6. To transfer of low – cost appropriate technology to rural people.
  7. To provide technical guidance.
  8. To disseminate information and create awareness.
  9.  Six months free training programmes were conducted in the year 2006-07 in the trades of DEO/ Plumber/ Dress Making/ Electrical House Wiring/ Type and Data Entry/ Brass Fish making
The community polytechnic society was ceased to function with effect from 31.10.2007 as per letter No. 12563(14)/ dated 13.08.2007 of DTE&T, Orissa, Cuttack and letter No. F-21-5/2007 TS(IV)/ dated 04.10.2007 of MHRD, New Delhi. However, it is likely to revived shortly.

IGNOU  Study Centre:

The IGNOU Study Centre was started in this institution in the year 2004. The counseling for the course  in B.Tech. in Construction Management is being conducted. The diploma passed-out students are eligible to take admission in this course. Their classes are being held during morning and evening time. Sri S.K. Nayak, M.Tech., Lecturer(Civil)[Cell No. 9438077862]  is now acting as “Programme-In-charge” for the said course and Sri A.T. Sahoo, Sr.Steno is managing the official work. Sri L.K. Mohapatra, Principal, is acting as Head of Office for the said course.

Placement Cell and PDPT Training :

The institute has a separate cell to look into the training and placement activities of the students. This cell organises study tours, Industrial visits, Industry Institute Interaction programmes to help students to learn better.
The placement cell has been successful in providing employment to the students in various reputed organizations like SAIL, NALCO, HAL, Infosys, Godrej, TCS, Railways, NIT(Rkl), ACC, GRIDCO,L&T, IMFA, J &K Paper etc.
